    Situation

We are determined that Oxford Playhouse should be a theatre for everyone. That means finding ways to connect with people who have little or no experience of live performance, challenging preconceptions and breaking down barriers. Introducing people to the theatre is just the first step – it is vital to have the resources to maintain and develop relationships.

    Solution

Having a dedicated member of staff ensures that the Playhouse has the ability to develop meaningful long term relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds. Since the role was established, we have been able to introduce initiatives targeted at communities who have little or no access to live performance as well as setting up schemes to encourage regular attenders to develop a deeper connection with theatre. We want to ensure that the excellent progress already made will continue.
