Gabrieli has long been known for its ground-breaking, exciting, large-scale recordings of Handel oratorios, many of which are cited as the finest in the catalogue. Gabrieli returns to this repertoire now to record Handel's L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato.

    Situation

Gabrieli’s Handel recordings are some of the most highly regarded recordings available. They are widely acclaimed as the most exciting available and have been critical in establishing this renowned ensemble as world-leaders. However, in recent years, the ensemble has lacked the funds to record such core repertoire. By recording Handel’s L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato we will be building on past success and offering audiences one of Handel’s less-well known but equally wonderful works.

    Solution

Research amongst donors indicates that we could secure significant donations from them for this recording. The added incentive of matched -funding would further encourage people to support the project and would bridge the gap between private donations and the true cost of the project, enabling the work to be recorded in early 2014. Furthermore, recording repertoire that is of such importance to core donors means that we can continue to rely on their crucial financial support in future years.
