Over the last two years, the Chinese government’s intolerance towards any political activities by the Tibetan people has escalated and they have intensified their “patriotic re-education campaign” throughout Tibet. Various methods of repression are used including regular arrests and detentions. Many people are resorting to desperate means to highlight the repressive nature of the regime they live under, including a growing number of self-immolations.
To provide relief and rehabilitative grants allowing access to basic sustaining items such as food, clothing, travel costs and medicines, or ongoing education and support so that Tibetan prisoners of conscience can support themselves and their families.
