All over the world, brave men and women are persecuted, often detained and tortured, due to their courageous stance against injustice. They may be suffering in a filthy prison or they may have had to flee their homes, leaving behind family and friends, arriving in a foreign country, traumatised and destitute.
We will offer practical support in the form of financial grants. A typical relief grant of £500 can be a financial lifeline; addressing urgent medical needs, sustaining a family whilst a parent is incarcerated or helping with rehabilitation and family reunion upon release. We also have a separate Bursaries Fund, enabling prisoners of conscience in exile to convert their existing professional qualifications, allowing them to resume interrupted careers and rebuild shattered lives.
